1649 Cowell College Dining Commons Seismic Renovations
The scope of this project includes the renovation of the original dining hall, servery, kitchen and food preparation areas to accommodate an increased and expanding student population on campus. This project will also correct structural seismic deficiencies in the dining hall and commons on the first floor and office areas in the basement, including accessibility and fire protection upgrades to meet code compliances. The project area is approximately 22,000 square feet and primarily constructed of cast-in-place reinforced concrete with concrete walls and moment frames. The construction cost is estimated at $11 million and construction duration is estimated at 10 months.
